Becky Ablad, LCSW
I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing, no matter the challenges they face. In therapy, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each person’s unique journey. I see therapy as a partnership where we work together to uncover strengths, overcome obstacles, and build a more fulfilling life.

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

Core Values & Beliefs
My path to becoming a therapist started when I witnessed the powerful change that can happen in group therapy while working at a treatment center for teens. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work with a wide range of clients—from private practice to community mental health—and what’s always inspired me is helping people understand themselves better.
I love digging into the “why” behind thoughts, behaviors, and patterns. When we start to uncover what makes us tick, it becomes easier to move through life with clarity and intention.
Over time, I’ve found a strong connection to working with trauma survivors. No one chooses to go through traumatic experiences—but that doesn’t mean those experiences have to define you or hold you back. I also work with individuals living with chronic pain, where emotional stress, past trauma, and physical symptoms often overlap. The body remembers what the mind tries to forget, and that connection can show up in powerful—and sometimes painful—ways. Whether you’re processing trauma, navigating chronic pain, or simply seeking more peace and understanding in your life, I’m here to support you with care, compassion, and curiosity.
I have a BS in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Utah. I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field and have been licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) since 2016. I have experience working with teens (13+), adults, couples, and family systems.
I use evidence-based methods including Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Certified), Solution-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Focused interventions, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you shape your story.
I am committed to providing affirming, inclusive care that supports and serves all people—regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality (including immigration status), gender identity, sexual orientation, or religion.
I believe therapy is inherently political: it involves creating space for people to reclaim their voices, challenge oppressive systems, and heal in ways that honor their identities and lived experiences.
I stand firmly against all forms of discrimination and racial oppression, and I deeply value the work of those advocating for equity and justice. In my practice, every client is met with respect, dignity, and compassion.
